My fiance and I have been through a few couple's devotional books, including this one. Overall, this book was a quick read and barely seemed to skim the surface. We did 1 passage each evening. Each passage is about 1.5-2 pages of content followed by conversation questions. I feel like this book would be good for couples who don't know each other well, haven't lived together, and are uncomfortable with incorporating God into their relationship. This book would be a good start, as it doesn't get very in-depth.However, I would recommend other devotionals to bring up those raw, real feelings that every couple needs to sort through and build upon before marriage.
This is ok. My fiancée and I read this together. “The Meaning of Marriage†by Tim Keller is what we are reading now. Scripture runs through it and we both love it much more!
Great premarital workbook. Really gives you scenarios and makes you think about challenges you don't even think about when you're living in bliss until real life problems hit.
This is a wonderful book! Our pastor who was counseling my wife and I while we were engaged gave us this book. It helped us to develop a habit of worshipping as a couple. It also has given us insightful, Christian advice when it comes to marriage. Now, I give this as a gift to any couple that I know who becomes engaged.
So far I've enjoyed this Devotional. Some of the questions are weird, but it is nice to go through with my fiancée before we get married. It's a conversation starter for sure!
Received in timely manner. I've skimmed through the devotional, looks like it's exactly what we need. Excited about working through the book with my guy before any commitment is made. We've been talking about marriage and believe God has placed both of us in each others life for that very purpose and we want to make sure we are prepared for the journey.
I am doing this with my boyfriend. We aren't done yet, but it is wonderful and thought provoking. It is a great tool and I would highly recommend it!
I bought this because my fiancé and I aren't doing the traditional pre-marital counseling but wanted something to inspire spiritual and relationship conversations before we tie the knot, we love this book! It's inspiring, spiritual, not controversial, and a very easy read. It does use Christian based terminology, so keep that in mind. Highly recommend!
