This thing kinda sucks. Although it can tell you some in depth repair steps . It was written so long ago that there are new procedures that are better for the things I needed it for. Like installing a water pump, the way they were showing was not a good way to remove the auto tensioner and I ended up breaking my timing chain guide. A plastic piece that the tensioner plunger rides on. If the book showed a better way to do it it wouldn’t have broken. And it ruined the job for me . Time will tell if my fix for it worked tho. Also I needed electrical schematics for the ecu and other things but it is very short on information it should be providing. It only gives you the “most common schematics†which are only a hand full. Is it worth it . Yes and no . You MAY find a little tip you won’t find else where. I still think a google search is better information than this book. Which is kind of sad.
I have used Haynes manuals for 25 years and cannot say enough about them. When Chilton purchased Haynes I assumed the quality of the product would diminish. I was correct. Haynes manuals are written with a complete tear-down procedure. Photos, photos, photos, you can never have enough photos of what the author is attempting to explain to you and Haynes always comes through! I purchase one of these for every car I purchase and have done my own mechanic work for over 30 years successfully!
